Welcome to BurlyQ-

On Saturday 15th June Burly Q invites you to the Abbeydale Picture House to walk amongst the ghosts of cinema past...

Join us in celebrating 10 incredible years of sell out events, with a unique evening inspired by the magic, spectacle and elegance of vintage cinema and Vaudevillian theatre. The event will take place in the main auditorium of the Abbeydale Picture House- a historic Grade II listed building, a former cinema of the early 20th century, and presently the only one of its era left in Sheffield. The largest and most luxurious cinema around, it was often referred to as the “Picture Palace”, because of its glamorous cream and gold colour scheme, period plaster, faïence tiles, stained glass and turrets.

Each ticket sold for the event will include a small Restoration Levy in support of CADs and their ongoing project to restore the venue to its former glory.

Starring a handpicked cast of the UK's most celebrated, headlining performers from the worlds of burlesque, drag, comedy, cabaret and magic, this promises to be an unmissable event, and truly, "A variety show like no other!" Exposed Magazine

Gin drinking cabaret darling, musical comedy misfit, drag clown and acid tongued ringmaster Joe Black will take you firmly by the hand, and guide you into a place where the strange and unusual reign supreme, the shocking is the sublime, and the ridiculous is the beautiful.

One of the leading figures in the dark cabaret genre, Joe Black has toured extensively across the UK, Europe, Australia and America, and has been dubbed by Vanity Fair Italia as "Not to be missed."
